Evan Thomas Monzyk was born today (March 12, 2008) at 12:14 PM. He is almost exactly 8 lbs. and 21" long.

Melissa went to see a movie with her Mom (Amy) on Saturday night while I went to see the Cardinals at the new Busch Stadium beat the Pond Scum (the Mets) 5-0. I get home at around 10:30 pm, and Melissa is telling me that she is having fairly regular contractions as I lay down to bed. Before long, I am recording these in a notebook. They start at 9 minutes apart, then go to 8, then 7, then 6…..we call the doc. We are told to go ahead to the hospital and check in, which we do very casually after gather the last minute items and grab the bags and go.....
